Rahina 19 Pipiri Monday 19 June Today was the start of our Matariki week. We have watched the Aotearoa racing and made our own waka based on one that was involved in a 3 year journey around the globe with stops in NZ, South Africa, the Americas and Pacific islands. Our Te Whare pa. We are making this to show how Maori lived. It will e finished in time for Whanau week in week 10. Toa drumming.

Raapa 30 Poutu-te-rangi Thursday 30 March Information from Photolife for each child in Room 11on how to order photos is coming out in Thursday's NewSheet. Each child has a unique shoot key code so it is essential you have the correct slip for each child. I am handing those out tomorrow. Parents will have free delivery of orders until SUNDAY 23 APRIL. These orders will be delivered to school. After that time they can still order photos but there will be a delivery charge. It was wonderful to see so many Room 11 children being involved in the interschool swimming competition. These amazing people are going to have a wonderful time doing something really exciting. Maggie, Dom, Noah, Pippa,Tara an d Pippa. Maths in Room 11 this week. We had Te Whare today as Miss Pearson from Room 15 had to go to the swimming competition. Scratch art in Te Whare. Raapa 7 Pipiri Wednesday 7 June Go the mighty BLUES! Don't forget to keep up your Mathletics challenges. Today has been a day of visual language, maths and cross country training. We are busy looking at advertisments and their power over us. We watched some nz ads and were shocked at how many we recognised befor they had even moved onto the product being sold. We looked at logos and their importance and the was photographers try to trick us into wanting rather than needing things. This afternoon we got our bucket drums out and Isi and Api taught us their funky beats.
