Ratu 7 Hui-tanguru

Tuesday 7 February

Wow it was hot today! It came up to 29 degrees in class which was enough to have me searching for the air-conditioning remote. Tomorrow we are going to use it!
Pippa, Archie ( 4 months) and mum! How cute they all are!

We had Te Whare today. Our pictures told our mihi. Our mountain, water and family.
We are going to be relearning our pepeha next week.

People who finished did puzzles in Maori! Clever!

Jame got 15 mins of computer time as he finished everything he needed to. He's a great "Kauri Kid"!

Working hard !

Te Whare ideals.

A healthy, active body is just as important as a healthy active mind. That's why we do fitness and games in the morning.

Running, chasing, participating, learning to handle the good and the bad times on and off the sports field.

Lisa came 3rd in the Triathalon out of a huge group of competators from the Athletic clubs in Auckland. We are so proud of her.

Preliminary Math classes were sorted today. There will still be some movement across the classes until we feel we have put children in a class where they can be challenged but still achieve.

Today we went to the library as we had missed on Monday. The akonga have chosen some lovely stories to read at home. Please talk about what they are reading with your child.

Reading is not just saying the words but understanding what the story is about AND the vocabulary that makes it interesting. Issy and Toa read too. They had an exciting book about dinosaur.

I read with 2 groups today, These guys enjoyed this story and what it was about. Sharks!

How do you like our cartoon portraits. Cute eh.

Thursday is swimming. Please let your children bring their togs for a cooling dip and water safety lessons.
